Happy 21 Months!
Wow, Julia, 21 months old. You are such a fun little girl - independent, funny, laid back, talented, smart, curious, loving, kind, helpful.
You like to take in situations before becoming completely comfortable, but you are not really shy and love to get attention. You do cute little things like grab Mommy and Daddy's legs, pull us together and say "big hug." You scrunch up your shoulders and nose like you're just too cute (which of course you are!).
You are particular about your routines and let us know if we miss a step. You love bath time, being a naked j-bird and getting your hair dried with Mommy's hair dryer. You like make up and wearing a tutu. You love cars and trains and playing "tickle-tackle" with Daddy.
The water is one of your favorite places to be and I wish, wish, wish for your sake you really could swim already : ) You certainly want to do it yourself. Actually, you want to do everything yourself and it drives you crazy that you can't see what's happening on counter tops. Favorite expressions right now are "Daddy hold Ju" and "See what Mommy doin." You also say "that otay"and "that better."
Sometimes you get frustrated and whine when you can't accomplish something, but you are really good at following directions or asking for "help please." Sometimes when you're working hard, you make funny grunting noises. Sometimes you make these noises when you're just pretending to work hard.
Your best friend is Sheepie, a hand sized plastic sheep with fuzzy hair. Sheepie gets to do everything that Julia does - swim, eat, get a clean diaper, take a bath, go to the mall. Daddy and I worry that you will lose him but always give in and let you take him all over the place.
You are a parrot - repeating everything you hear - and you are stringing together 3 and 4 word sentences. You love music but now request certain songs or different songs. Yesterday you said "people on bus bump bump bump." And you have the cutest dance moves - a kind of hopping motion with flapping arms - it's fantastic!
You are definitely Daddy's girl right now, although we have a great time together too. Love you.
